What is the Skate Sanctuary?

The Skate Sanctuary is a roller skate studio, shop and community hub. From practise space to parties, craft to classes, The Skate Sanctuary aims to make roller skating even more accessible.

For the skate curious to seasoned skaters, our beautiful studio is located just outside Leeds city centre, and offers sessions for all.

Question 3

Can I hire the studio/ space for my event?

Accepted Answer

The studio space is available for private events run/ facilitated by us such as parties, team building events and 1-2-1 coaching sessions.

You can hire the Skate Sanctuary studio for use whilst the shop is open. Prices are £35 p/h for advance, £15 p/h last minute.

Can I hire skates?

You absolutely can! We have quad style roller skates to hire from junior 8 to adult 15.

Children's skates are adjustable in sizes from Jnr8-11 or Jnr12-2. Sizes UK3-15 are fixed size.

Sizes 13-15 are usually available at our studio, but we also offer our skates for party hire. If you need one of these sizes, you can drop us a message and check we have them before you travel.

Usually at our studio, skate hire is offered on a first come, first served basis, with a small additional rental charge payable at check-in.

How big is your space?

Our studio is an intimate, purpose-built space for building confidence and connection through roller skating. Rather than a busy public rink, we offer a calm, supportive environment where less experienced skaters and roller dancers can learn, practice, and enjoy a memorable session together—without worrying about crowds or distractions.

Question 6

How many guests can I have at a party?

Accepted Answer

Our standard party package includes 18 skaters, including all equipment. We can have up to 40 people on site, though this will compromise the space for skaters. Around 25 people is a good number of skaters and non-skaters.
