About The Event
UNITY Day Roller Skate Workshop
You're warmly invited to join us at Hyde Park's UNITY Day celebrations for a fun-filled roller skate workshop on the basketball courts!
Our workshop will focus on skills to get you rolling, however more experienced skaters are welcome to join. Whether you're a seasoned skater or lacing up for the very first time, this is the perfect opportunity to learn new skills and connect with the community.
We'll have a limited number of skates available to hire on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to bring your own if you have them. To help support our non-profit company, we'll be accepting pay-as-you-feel donations for the skate hire.
We're not taking any advance bookings, so just come on down on the day and join the fun! All participants will be required to sign a safety waiver before skating with us. We can't wait to see you there!
Terms & Conditions of Participation
By participating in the UNITY Day roller skate workshop, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Assumption of Risk
Roller skating is an activity with inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, and other accidents, which can result in injury. By participating in this workshop, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with roller skating and agree that you are solely responsible for your own safety and well-being.
Waiver of Liability
All participants, or their parent/guardian if under 18, must sign a liability waiver before beginning the session. This waiver releases the organizers, instructors, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from participation in the event.
Equipment and Safety
Protective Gear: We strongly recommend that all skaters wear appropriate protective gear, including a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads.
Skate Hire: A limited number of skates are available for hire on a first-come, first-served basis for a suggested pay-as-you-feel donation. Participants are responsible for ensuring the hired equipment fits properly and is in good condition before use.
Personal Equipment: Participants who bring their own skates and equipment are responsible for ensuring they are in safe working condition.
Code of Conduct: All participants must follow the instructions of the workshop instructors and skate in a safe, controlled manner. Horseplay, reckless skating, or behavior that endangers others will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the session.
General
First Aid: Basic first aid will be available on-site, but for serious injuries, emergency services will be contacted.
Photography: Please be aware that photos and videos may be taken during the event for promotional purposes. By participating, you consent to the use of your likeness in these materials.
